"Never stand still...The only constant in our lives is change. You can try to fight it...but change doesn't care. It will remorselessly grind on, whether you like it or not. Make sure you're looking forward. Be adaptable: make change work for you. If you're marking time, you're going backward." (Patrick Lindsay, Make the Most of You)

Last month, my husband and I celebrated 1 year since the day we got married. In honor of that day we went out to get tattoos of our marriage date on each of our ring fingers, something my husband has been asking me to do since the day we got married. I of course, had been using every excuse in the book to postpone it but, now I had no choice. We also asked my little sister to babysit that night so that we can go on a date. We hadn't gone on a date since before our daughter was born so this was actually really exciting for us.

Celebrating our one year anniversary was a self-realization of how much our lives had changed. While we were sitting at the bar trying to enjoy some drinks all we could think about was all that had happened to us in the past year. From moving in together, to getting married, to getting pregnant and having our beautiful baby girl. Not to mention all the changes we had each gone through personally in our careers and as individuals.

As we raised our beer glasses and made a toast, I can recall the tears that began to roll down my face. During our entire date all we could talk about was our daughter. This made me realize how much everything about us has changed. How our relationship has changed, how our conversations have changed, how our date nights have changed, how everything we do together has changed. It made me realize how much we have both grown in such a short period of time.

We never expected any of these changes especially not in the timing it all occurred. However, we joined forces and did all that we needed to adapt to it. It definitely was not easy and somedays are still harder than others. The key is to accept the changes that occur in your life and allow them to become a part of something positive, not something negative. Changes should always be the spark of motivation for positive growth and new beginnings in your life.

For us, CHANGE has been a major force behind everything we have today and everything we look forward to in our future...
